Second RUAS Premier Beef and Lamb Championships

The very best of Northern Ireland's prime stock competed for hotly contested Championship titles at Balmoral Park.

Butchers, retailers and showmen stood shoulder to shoulder in the sale rings and bid well for each and every lot, resulting in a swift clearance at tremendous prices.

Jalex

The British Blue Championship was won by Jalex (James Alexander) from Randalstown, Co.Antrim
handler Jack Smyth and Mya Alexander receive the award from Pat Hughes, Bank of Ireland, Jenny McNeill RUAS and Oliver McCann, Breed Society Representative.

The Supreme Champion of the Show exhibited by JCB Commercials was sired by a Limousin out of a British Blue x Lim dam. After a flurry of bids the hammer was knocked down by auctioneer Richard Beattie at £5300, forked out by the judge Blair Duffton on behalf of Kitson & son Butchers, North Yorkshire.

Reserve Champion British Blue

The Reserve Champion British Blue was awarded to Robert Simpson from Auchnacloy, also Oliver McCann Breed Society Representative, Declan Maginn BOI and RUAS Kendall Glenn.

Harriet McClelland

A very pleased Harriet McClelland (aged 10) from Banbridge winning the 8-12 years Young Handler leading her father's Little Boy Blue.
