Great Yorkshire ShowGreat Yorkshire Show 2022

12th - 15th July

Solway View Kesha

Overall Champion - Solway View Kesha

Continuing her winning form from the Royal Highland Show was Kevin Watret’s seven-year-old cow, Solway View Kesha, which secured the red, white and blue rosette at the Great Yorkshire Show on Wednesday, 13 July.

First taking the Female Championship and then tapped out as Supreme Champion by Adam Neachell, Kesha was paraded by stockman, Ali Jackson, and is perhaps best known as being on of the best brood cows at Solway View, producing the 27,000gns Solway View Odin sold at Carlisle last May to name a few. Bred from one of Kevin’s original females, Bringlee Evadine, Kesha is sired by the home-bred Solway View Firecracker.

Solway View Pearl

Reserve Female & Reserve Overall Champion - Solway View Pearl

Kevin did the double on the day by also taking the Reserve supreme honours with his Reserve Female Champion, Solway View Pearl, a two-year-old heifer which had a great 2021 season standing Champion at the Highland and Yorkshire shows as well as inter-breed Champion at Lancashire. Bred from Solway View Milly, she is by Dodou De St Remacle.
